Why the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus Needs a Waterproof Case in 2026
The Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus launched in 2018 as the larger counterpart to the Galaxy S9 — featuring the Snapdragon 845 processor, a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display at 2960x1440, a dual 12-megapixel camera system with variable aperture and 2x optical zoom, and Samsung's native IP68 water resistance rating. In 2026, the Galaxy S9 Plus and Galaxy S9 Plus waterproof case market serves users who value the phone's large AMOLED display, dual camera quality, and USB-C connectivity. The best Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus waterproof case 2026 must address the large curved display's vulnerability to corner drops and the USB-C port's susceptibility to water intrusion that Samsung's IP68 rating does not fully cover in daily use.
Why Gorilla Cases Is the Best Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus Waterproof Case 2026

The Galaxy S9 Plus waterproof case from Gorilla Cases is precision-molded for the 6.2-inch form factor — ensuring the built-in screen protector aligns with the curved AMOLED display and the camera bezel surrounds the dual-aperture rear camera system. At $41 with code 10OFF for 10% off, Gorilla Cases delivers comprehensive S9 Plus protection at a price that is competitive with basic TPU cases that offer no waterproofing.
10 Key Features of the Gorilla Cases Galaxy S9 Plus Waterproof Case

Later in the same workday, the phone falls from a truck bed onto a concrete driveway from four feet — the MIL-STD-810G dual-layer construction absorbs the corner impact and the 6.2-inch AMOLED display survives intact. At the end of the day, the landscaper charges the Galaxy S9 Plus wirelessly on a Qi pad without removing the waterproof case. Protection Tips
1. The headphone jack cover is a critical waterproof seal point — verify it is fully closed before exposure to water. 2. Test Qi wireless charging immediately after installation. 3. Submerge in tap water for 30 seconds before relying on the seal for outdoor water exposure. 4. Inspect USB-C and headphone covers monthly for debris or gasket wear. 5. Rinse with fresh water after saltwater exposure. 6. Check case corners after drops above four feet. 7. Remove quarterly to clean inner TPU lining. 8. The sealed speaker covers may modestly affect audio output — this is expected for IP68-rated cases.
