Why an iPhone 14 Pro Max Waterproof Case Matters in 2026
The iPhone 14 Pro Max (2022, 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR display) is still a daily workhorse in 2026. Many owners are keeping their phones longer, which means the device will meet more rain, more spills, and more pool decks than it did in its first year.
A standard case handles drops but not water. An iPhone 14 Pro Max waterproof case adds a sealed barrier, so a splash at the edge of the pool becomes a non-event instead of a repair bill.
The iPhone 14 Pro Max also carries an always-on display and a 48 MP camera system, which makes it a phone people want to use outdoors. Taking photos at the lake, filming kids in the splash zone, and checking a map in a downpour are all moments where a sealed case earns its keep.
Gorilla Cases builds its waterproof lineup for real life, not just the beach. The Gorilla Family has spent years designing cases for rain, mud, snow, sand, and dishwater, and this iPhone 14 Pro Max waterproof case is one of the most popular results.

Waterproof vs Rugged vs Aluminum: Which iPhone 14 Pro Max Case Fits You

Choose the aluminum kickstand case, $55.00, if you want a metal frame, a built-in front glass layer, and a fold-out stand. Each is a different kind of iPhone 14 Pro Max case, and none replaces the others.

Illustrative Use Scenario
Here is an illustrative example, not a verified customer review. Imagine a weekend kayaker who snaps an iPhone 14 Pro Max into a Gorilla Cases waterproof shell before launching at the lake.
A wave splashes over the deck and the phone slides into shallow water for a few seconds. Because the iPhone 14 Pro Max waterproof case is rated IP68, the kayaker dries the shell, checks the clear back for moisture, and keeps paddling.
The takeaway is simple: the case only helps if it is closed correctly before the trip. That habit is covered in the protection tips below.
7 Protection Tips for Your iPhone 14 Pro Max Waterproof Case
- Test the seal dry before every outing by closing the case with a tissue inside and checking it afterward.
- Clear the gasket path of sand, lint, and hair before closing the iPhone 14 Pro Max waterproof case.
- Stay inside the rated depth and time: 6.6 ft / 2 m for up to 1 hour.
- Rinse the case with fresh water after salt water or chlorinated pools, then dry it before opening.
- Avoid hot cars and direct sun for long periods, since heat is hard on gaskets and plastics.
- Do not open the case while it is wet; dry it fully first so water does not reach the phone.
- Replace the case if it cracks or the gasket is damaged, because the seal depends on every edge.
What Is in the Box and How to Install It
Check the listing for the exact contents of your color. The iPhone 14 Pro Max waterproof case ships as a two-piece shell with a built-in screen protector.
- Power off the phone and wipe it clean with a dry cloth.
- Open the two halves and inspect the gasket for debris.
- Place the iPhone 14 Pro Max into the back half, lining up the camera area.
- Snap the front half on, working around the edges until the frame is fully closed.
- Run the dry tissue test, then power on and check touch response.
